For 900 a month, you could secure a full-fledged studio apartment in major US cities like St. Paul, Minneapolis, or Kansas City. But in San Francisco, that same amount of money will only get you a bed in a shared room.
Brownstone, a company that operates shared housing in San Francisco and New York City, is currently developing a new property in the Mission District. The property, which is set to open in 2023, will offer shared rooms for $900 per month. The rooms will be located in a four-story building with a shared kitchen, living room, and laundry room. Brownstone also plans to offer a variety of amenities to its tenants, including free Wi-Fi, bike storage, and a community manager.
The San Francisco property is listed on the Brownstone website as still in operation, but there is no way to apply to live in the unit online. Interested tenants are encouraged to contact Brownstone directly for more information.
