Euro 2024 Approaches, Striker's Recovery, Return to Form
Switzerland striker Breel Embolo scored a crucial goal in added time to help his team hold off Hungary's second-half fightback and secure a 3-2 victory in Düsseldorf.
Embolo had earlier opened the scoring for Switzerland in the 75th minute, tapping home from close range. Hungary fought back with two goals in the space of five minutes, but Embolo's late strike proved decisive.
The goal was Embolo's first for Switzerland since he suffered a serious knee injury in November 2021. The injury kept him out of action for several months, but he has worked hard to regain his fitness and form.
Embolo's return to form is a major boost for Switzerland, who will be looking to make a strong challenge at Euro 2024. The tournament will be held in Germany from June 14th to July 14th.
