Massive Outage Affects Airlines Worldwide
A massive global IT outage is causing major disruptions to air travel across the world, with nearly 3,000 flights canceled within or into the United States today. Around 4,295 flights globally or 39% of all scheduled services have also been canceled so far, according to aviation data from Cirium.
Spirit Airlines reported that its reservation system was affected by the outage and advised passengers to check back for updates. The outage is having a significant impact on air travel operations, with delays and cancellations being reported at airports worldwide.
