Warner Bros. has announced that a sequel to the 1988 classic Beetlejuice is in development. Tim Burton will return to direct the film, with Michael Keaton reprising his role as the titular poltergeist. Winona Ryder is also expected to return as Lydia Deetz.

The sequel will reportedly pick up 27 years after the events of the original film. The Deetz family has returned to their old home in Winter River, Connecticut, and Lydia is now a young woman. However, Beetlejuice is still lurking in the shadows, and he's not happy that the Deetzes are back.
